Low-rise jeans? Jorts? Henleys?
2000s fashion is making a big comeback in 2025, with many places releasing new lines left and right.
Low-rise jeans have been the newest trend. You can get them from stores like PacSun and Hollister. You can pair them with a cute sweater or even a babydoll top.
“I would say low-rise is probably my favorite,” says Isabella Recla (‘29). “I would say I wear a lot of low-rise but not a lot of other 2000s clothes.”
It’s not just different types of clothes coming back, but also many different patterns: stripes, polka dots, cheetah print, and zebra print. “I really like the tops that are coming back, like the polka dots and stripes and all patterns like that,” said Francesca Nehro (‘29).
Retro clothes like this can be hard to find, considering it’s 2025, so many people have been selling their vintage pieces on websites like Depop and Etsy. The 2000s were 25 years ago, so oftentimes, people have trouble finding cute yet high-quality clothes. Websites like Depop and Etsy are really helpful in supplying gently used clothes, and you can buy them from other people.
2000s-era jackets with fur hoods have also started trending again.
“I see people [wearing] that fur hood [coat],” says Ema Syla (‘29). “Cheetah print is coming back.”
TikTok and Pinterest are big on how many different fashion styles start, usually through social media. Many people get their outfit insporation from online platforms.
“I think that many trends start on social media, and I think that is how [2000s fashion] started trending again,” says Kate Sauld (‘29).
Many millennials have noticed this comeback in fashion, considering they were young when these clothes were trending. Now, they are adults with teens of their own wearing clothes that used to be popular when they were younger.
“The tank tops with the baggier pants, I think they’re called boyfriend jeans, that was a big thing in the 2000s,” says Skyline Algebra teacher Megan Stark. “That’s coming back hard.”
