This fall, Adidas Campus and Adidas Sambas seem to be a favorable go-to shoe style among many Skyline Students. But how long will they stay “in style”? I do not expect these to stay in style for long.
Shoe trends in our generation only last a couple of months, until social media influences us with a different upcoming shoe trend. “I think the Sambas and Campuses will go out of trend relatively quickly, but I still appreciate them as a nice shoe,” Stephanie Chen (‘26).
Baggy jeans are also a major trend this fall season. Whether that’s low-rise baggy or barrel style, there are so many different options for everyone. I love how baggy jeans are a creative way to express my personal style. “…I have seen a lot of baggy jeans, in both guys and girls,” said Ella Goldstein (‘26). Baggy jeans are both comfortable and easy to style, which is why I expect this rising trend to stay trendy for a while.
Skyline Students find their outfit inspiration on social media platforms like TikTok and Pinterest. Many also get inspiration from other students walking in the hallways of Skyline. “I used to be a Pinterest warrior,” said Kwesi Kwakyke (‘26). Now I’ll watch celebrities….see how they style themselves. People I am very fond of are Jeremy Allan White and Austin Butler.”
Teenagers enjoy shopping at places like Garage, Aritzia, Brandy Melville, Hollister, Pacsun, and Lululemon. “I get a lot of my clothes from Brandy Melville and Garage, those are probably my main stores,” said Goldstein (‘26).
Students are also finding their clothes at local thrift shops. Thrifting is becoming more and more popular as it is a way for students to express themselves and their personalities in a budget-friendly way. “I’m a big thrifter, I’m a thrifty merchant,” said Kwakye (‘26). “I love it.”
I do not expect styles like the Brandy Mellville “Baby Doll” t-shirts to stay in style for much longer, as they are more of a social media “trend” that teenagers want to follow rather than a cute top that grabs people’s attention in stores.
