As Trimester 2 came to a close, The Skyline Post decided to survey students to see how their year has gone.
First we asked students how excited they were about the upcoming 3rd trimester, to which we got a variety of responses. 56.5% of students answered positively, 20.5% answered negatively, and 23.1% answered neutral. Seniors had the most varying answers, with answers ranging from horrified to ecstatic.

It seems Skyline mostly had an average time this trimester: out of five, winter tri was rated 2.85 overall. However, nobody answered that they had a 5/5 time this trimester.

So far this year, it seems over 70% enjoyed trimester 1 over trimester 2. This could be due to many things, like the multitude of snow days and breaks leading to limited time for classes to cover all their topics. This is even worse for juniors and seniors with more rigorous curricula and looming AP exams. A majority of current juniors and seniors preferred trimester 1.
Looking forward to the end of the year, 51% of students think they will enjoy trimester three the most out of all this year’s trimesters. Only 15% of people chose trimester 2 as their expected favorite.

When asked what they thought the best and worst trimesters in high school were, the clear winner was tri 1 of freshman year.
“I feel like tri 1 was the best trimester because of the vibes from the football games and school spirit. It was also really nice because it was warmer outside,” says Francesca Nehro (‘29).
Cole Zeller (‘27) added humorously, “When you’re young, you feel that your future is bright and full of hope. As you get older, you realize that the future only holds despair.”
The worst trimester by far was tri 2 of freshman year.
“The weather’s terrible, it’s always short so you’re cramming in class and it feels like you always have so long until school’s over,” says Nick Yuan (‘27).
“It’s not the start with the new joys, and it’s too far away from the end to be a party,” says Nikolas Ross (‘29).
