Everyone loves a good movie tradition. It’s the best feeling to think about the previous years or years to come, while watching that movie.
Lots of students at Skyline have movie traditions at home with their families, watching the same Halloween movies every year, or the same movie before Christmas.
Alison Green (‘26) loves to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas every year on Halloween. “Actually, it’s one of my favorites, so I’ve convinced my family to watch it every Halloween, especially because it’s like fitting for Halloween and for Christmas.”
Jane Jordan (‘28) has a tradition with her family and she has been watching a different Scream movie every year around Halloween for about two years. She has also been watching some of the same Christmas movies every year. “My family watches Meet Me In St.Louis, Holiday Inn, and White Christmas every year,” Jordan says. “I’ve been watching the Christmas movies my whole life.”
Francesca Nehro (‘29) says that her tradition is watching The Polar Express on Christmas Eve. She loves to watch this movie with her family on Christmas Eve because it gets her in the Christmas spirit. “We started this tradition probably about five years ago,” Nehro says.
Luka Dragovic (‘29) says that he loves to watch Home Alone with his younger sisters during the week of Christmas. They watch Home Alone because of the same reason many people watch Christmas movies. “It gives us the perfect Christmas vibe, and I really enjoy how it mixes action with funny moments,” Dragovic says. “It never gets old, no matter how many times we see it!”
