“My favorite thing [about the cross country team] is the community and the coaches because we’re all really supportive of each other. It’s just like a whole team together which I really like because I feel like it’s a lot more welcoming for people…. Don’t be afraid to join cross country. It’s super duper welcoming [and] there are so many people that will be totally accepting of you joining. I joined last year at the beginning, so everyone else was already fast, but I was still able to make progress and I still got to know the team…. I am on Varsity this year so it’s all about the effort, it’s about sticking with it and that will get you far on the team.”
