“My parents had taught me how important it was, that before you’re going into your senior year, you make sure that you have a focus and a direction. And I hadn’t even realised that, so I needed to kind of just step back, reevaluate and think a lot about what I wanted to do with my life before I even started writing a college essay. I would often just take a few hours and listen to music and think. I feel like getting a sense of understanding yourself and who you are is so important for the next steps.”
