“I was at A-Ga-Ming golf resort near Torch Lake, Michigan. I was there for the Michigan Junior Amateur, the biggest junior tournament in the state of Michigan. I recently committed to Villanova University, as you can see in the photo edit. I had a couple offers from different Ivy League schools, but eventually, I really liked the culture that the team [Villanova] instilled. Also, my older brother [Vimal Alokam, Skyline ‘21] is also a part of the golf program, and I really wanted to get the opportunity to play with him at the collegiate level. Outside of the golf program, I’m planning on studying finance, as Villanova has a top-tier business program. I’m also just excited to experience a new atmosphere outside of Ann Arbor, getting out of my lifelong bubble.”
