“A very important person to me is my mom because I’ve grown up with her my whole life. My dad hasn’t been in my life so I’ve always looked up to her . . . she’s always been there for me when things got hard. I like going shopping [with my mom] since I feel like that’s the only time we can actually spend together because I have two little brothers, so I really like going shopping or going out to eat with her. She’s definitely shown me how to learn from her past and how she’s grown up.”
