On November 28th, Romeo Santos and Prince Royce, two of the biggest bachata artists in the genre, released Better Late Than Never, an album that a lot of fans have wanted for a long time. A collab of the both Bachata artists leading to a lot of fans listening to them more
Since the 2000’s, Romeo Santos has been a top artist in the Bachata genre, a dominican dance style that has expanded all through South America. with his first song, “Ella Y Yo” featuring Don Omar, another major artist in the bachata and reggaeton genres.
Prince Royce, who became popular with the genre in 2010 with his song “Corazon sin cara,” one of the most iconic bachata love songs
Some of the things I liked about this album is the mixture of styles they put into it, like R&B, Afrobeat, Pop, and Dominican rhythms. Like the song “La Amare,” a wonderful love song to the listeners. It is the most listened-to song in the album; the song portrays Romeo and Royce loving a woman with their all. They mention New Years at 12am, which shows how people love the tradition and their romantic relationships at that time
This album should be listened to more, it doesn’t have a lot of listeners now, unlike when it first came out. It has potential to be a good album, but at the same time there has to be a few changes on the types of rhythms there are. For example the song “celeste” and “ay!, San Miguel” gave a good examples of these songs change the rhyme on how Romeo and Royce perform
Anyone over 13 should listen to this album and type of music, since there are some inappropriate themes in the music, not all through the music, but in some of the songs there are some sexual references. The album doesn’t really have good “hits” like “imitadora” which was released on June 23, 2017 in his album Golden. I expected more of them on this album, but it didn’t hit as hard as their previous albums
Overall this album passes with the rest of his albums that are more popular even if it doesn’t hit as hard. It’s still a good enough album for people to listen to and vibe to. I would give this album an 8 star review.
