School is about to end, and summer break is coming. People are starting to look for fun activities to do with friends, with some of the more popular options being concerts and festivals. Here are some Spring and Summer music events you cannot miss.
The most popular genre is probably pop, with a lot of good artists having upcoming concerts. Bruno Mars’ tour covers Detroit on May 9 and Chicago May 16. A newer pop star with a lot of viral songs, The Kid Laroi, is in Sterling Heights on May 23.
If you have been online, you have probably heard Alex Warren’s song Ordinary playing everywhere. This newcomer is playing in Detroit on July 5. Madison Beer is going on tour with her last album Locket stopping in Detroit, July 8. If you like sad Country Pop, you should look out for Megan Moroney‘s concerts, one of them being in Detroit on August 18 at the end of the summer.
If you are a rap and hip hop fan, here are some concerts especially for you. Baby Keem is playing in Detroit on May 26, and rap star A$AP Rocky is on tour with his last album Don’t Be Dumb on July 8. Classic rapper Lil Wayne offers something for every age group. His concert is in Clarkston on July 5.
Hip hop artist Don Toliver, who recently came out with his new album Octane, is playing on July 4 in Detroit. Kid Cudi also has a concert in Clarkston on May 23. Summer Walker is a big RnB star, who you should see on May 31 in Detroit.
If you cannot decide between any of these artists and you just want to see them all, then you should visit some festivals this summer. The next big festival, Lollapalooza, is in Chicago from July 30 to August 2 with huge main acts like Tate McRae, Olivia Dean, Charli XCX and other artists like Sombr, Zara Larsson, The Neighborhood and many more.
You can see many of your favorite Hispanic musicians at the Suenos Music Festival. This year you can see J Balvin, Kali Uchis, Fuerza Regida and many more. This is the 5th time it’s been held in Chicago, going from May 23 to May 24.
There are also a lot of opportunities locally in Ann Arbor, such as the Ark, a small folk music venue. Every year the city is also the host to the Ann Arbor Music Festival, which takes place over 4 weeks in June, has around 200 concerts and other events, such as art. When you have a free day in the summer you should definitely go, as it is largely free.
This summer is full of music and concerts to go to, perfect for a short trip or locally. Choose your favorite artist and ask your friends and family to come along.
