Have you heard? A new club, Create For Kids, just started. This club is a branch from a pre-existing organization, Create For Kids. This club is for Skyline students to showcase their kindness and creativity!
“Create For Kids is an organization that I opened at Skyline,” says founder Amara Reddy (‘28). “ [We] make cards for kids in the hospital with uplifting drawings and messages just to brighten their day in the hospital, and to make their stay a bit better.”
Create For Kids gets together once a week on Thursdays in room A302, with Skyline math teacher Mike Lovelace hosting.
“There are a lot of students here, it’s become popular,” says Lovelace. “There’s a lot of creativity. You can feel the compassion that they want to share to try to help the kids that are in the hospital.”
Create For Kids does different fun themes for the cards they send out to the children. For example, during the holiday season, they design themed cards. Those in the class spend a lot of time making sure the card is well put together.
“Since it just started, we’ve been doing Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, those kinds of things,” says create for kids club member Gwendolyn Armstong (‘29).
Join Create For Kids to spread your love to kids in need. If you’re interested, stop by room A302 on Thursdays!
