“I was an English major in undergrad. Junior year I started thinking about what I was actually going to do as a job because you can’t just read books. I thought about the type of place I would want to go to work everyday, and I knew that I was never a person who was going to want an office job. Growing up, my mom took me to the library every single week… I’ve always been an avid reader and I just thought working in a library would be really fun. Then during library school I had to choose between… public libraries and being a school librarian. … I overhear people talking about a book that they read and they’re recommending it to each other – [it] just like brings my heart so much joy.”
