“I have mixed feelings about retiring after this school year. I have been an educator for 30 years, working with students that have learning differences. The work has been very fulfilling and being an educator has become a big part of my identity. Working with high school kids has helped me grow and evolve, as I can stay in touch (kind of) with what is changing in our culture. I truly love what I do. On the other hand, following a school schedule for my entire life makes me feel like a perpetual student. I look forward to having an ‘adult’ schedule with opportunities to travel, camp, fish, hunt and explore on my own timeline. I am a bit nervous about moving on from being Mr. LeCloux and excited for the next chapter as Mike LeCloux. Next year I will be learning to use tools to make art pieces from metal that I plan to sell. I will also be working to start an ecommerce business. I am excited to learn about and begin these two new ventures. …I plan to rest and relax a bit.”
