After months of extreme preparation and high-stakes test taking, AP students at Skyline high schoolers are finally shifting gears. But what happens after AP exam bubbles burst?
While the stress has eased, students continue to stay engaged with more creativity, self reflection, and yes…ice cream.
In AP Chemistry with Chris Jones’ classes are swapping test tubes for taste buds, with a fun project which consists of creating their own unique ice cream flavor and product. “We’re finishing up our ice cream,” says Anneka Stephenson (‘26). “Our last batch had to be finished Sunday and posters are due Monday. We basically explain what our ice cream is supposed to taste like and how we made it.”
In classroom A306, AP Language, the focus turns inward. After practicing the essays they would encounter on the AP exam, they begin the personal essays mandatory for applying to college. “Now we’re writing our Common App personal essays,” says Heather Shriberg (‘26). “Definitely still in work mode, but it’s more chill.
Ishmal Choudhary (‘26), who tackled AP Microeconomics, Language, and Calculus, described the post-exam feeling in each class. “Micro and Macro are done. In Calc, we’re just doing a final project that has to involve math.
