Skyline High School’s second trimester will be extended three days, following the administrative and teacher vote.
Trimester two will now end on March 7th, with exams on March 10-12th, and trimester three starting on March 13th.
The last day to turn in late work for trimester two is now February 21, two weeks before the new end of term.
There were many factors contributing to this vote being held; trimester two started with six fewer school days than other trimesters because of breaks and holidays. On top of this, in trimester two, we lost five cold/snow days, totaling approximately two weeks less school compared to the other trimesters.
The purpose of the change is fairness: to even out the number of instructional days in each term so that students have roughly the same amount of time each term to prepare for assessments.
