Year after year, students return from winter break with new aspirations and goals they wish to see themself achieve in the new year. Skyline students may have had a fun and carefree 2024, and many are realizing that 2025 is their year to lock in and create good habits that will last a lifetime.
“I want to get better grades this year and keep my GPA at a consistent and good level,” says Parker Miller (‘25). “I want to get into Michigan State this year, I hope my work pays off.”
Much like Miller, other students at Skyline are aiming to get better grades or increase their work ethic in order to ensure a better future and college decisions. Seniors especially are thinking about college and are trying to change some of their habits this year before beginning their new chapter.
“I want to keep good habits consistent for the future,” says Dunn Stoval (‘25). “I’m trying to set myself up in a good place where I can have some good options for college and life after.”
Seniors at Skyline often have a more refined understanding of their high school experience compared to underclassmen and juniors. They’ve spent years navigating challenges and learning what works best for them, which gives them a clearer sense of direction. As they approach graduation, they are not only focused on finishing high school strong but are also setting goals for their transition to college.
“I think for my graduation year 2025 my mind cycles would probably be to just finish strong and keep working hard until the end,” says Britta Coultas (‘25). “I want to have a positive start on my freshman year of college and continue to use my good habits in the best way I can.”
