“When I graduated college, I became a nature educator and a horticulturist at a nature preserve. When I figured out that my favorite part of my job was teaching others I decided to go back to school to be a science teacher…. High schoolers are kind and interesting people that are actively working to figure out who they are. I knew I wanted to help with that and be there for them. Also, little kids ask you to help them blow their nose and high schoolers usually don’t…. I am so thrilled to be the botany teacher at Skyline! Getting to work with my hands and take care of plants helped me realize how important it is that we protect plants and our native ecosystems in Michigan. I am excited to share that passion with my students so that they too can understand how important plants are to keeping our world functioning.”
