“I have been running since I was in 7th grade. I ran in college and it’s been a part of who I am and my identity. I love running because it frees my mind. It makes me feel strong and powerful and I love sharing that with young people. It’s exciting for me to watch them grow and push their boundaries. Anyone can run, it’s all about challenging yourself and improving. I also love competing and it’s fun to see people get out there and be the best they can…My son joined the Skyline Cross Country team when he was a Freshman. He went professional after high school, and at age 21 qualified for the Olympics. The photo was taken at the Olympic trials in June. He placed 5th in the 1500 at the Paris Olympics. He’s on a really interesting career trajectory that we never expected. it’s just been really joyful for all of us.”
