“I started playing violin in fifth grade, which is later than most people….It’s a funny story because I actually wanted to play the trombone, but then I asked the band teacher what they thought I should play and they said I ‘looked more of a violin person,’ and I was kind of offended… and I was like ‘I don’t want you to be my teacher anyways’ and started playing violin….I’m interested in pursuing a dual degree with violin and some other subject but obviously that will be hard to attain because I think getting into music school is gonna be a big challenge….[However] I think that even if you start playing your instrument late or you’re not as good as other people, and it will feel that way sometimes, you just gotta keep pushing.”
