“It was a very good match. I was playing the quarterfinals against the second seed in the [MHSAA State Tennis] tournament. I feel like I played well. I got out the first round [in last year’s state championships], so this is better than the last time. I was very thankful that my teammates had stayed to support me…. I found it [my junior year season] more fun because I knew everyone better, and we got along better…. [My] favorite memory was when the team played hangman together when the matches got rained out.”
