“Mrs. Mackercher [is my mom], she teaches history and African American humanities. [I see her] maybe 1-2 times a day. A lot of teachers already know who I am and have opinions based on that. It really depends on the teacher, some have good opinions, others don’t. I get to use the microwave in the staff lounge which is nice. I feel like I get a bit more slack about where I am because most the time I’m helping my mom or something like that. My mom does help me a lot with history though, since she knows a lot about the subject.”
