The Eagles are putting in an effort to support rival Saline with their ChadTough fundraiser.
The ChadTough foundation was created in honor of Tammy Carr’s son, Chad Carr, who unfortunately passed away from DIPG. “Our foundation was started in honor of our son, Chad Carr, who bravely battled DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) — the deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer. Chad’s diagnosis and fight opened our eyes to the desperate need for more awareness, research, and funding for this devastating disease.”
“We are willing to support ChadTough,” says Skyline Head Coach Broderick Smith. “So it was a no-brainer for me. Obviously whenever you’re talking about charities and fundraisers to save lives I’m all for that.”

“When they reached out, they’re having an orange out this Friday night at their stadium and all the football players are wearing orange socks. And Saline asked us if we would wear the orange socks and I concurred, so we are gonna wear the socks.”
The ChadTough foundation has donated over $42 million for DIPG research at more than 50 institutions around the world. They are the largest DIPG research foundation in the world, “a milestone that speaks to the power of a community united for a cause greater than themselves,” says Carr.
“We’re proud to be based here in Washtenaw County, Michigan, and are especially grateful to local supporters like the Skyline and Saline football teams, who are coming together for an Orange Out game in Chad’s honor.”
Speaking as a Skyline football player, we are proud to be supporting such a proud and meaningful foundation.
As Carr notes, “Some things are bigger than a rivalry, and seeing these two teams unite on the field to raise funds and awareness for DIPG research is incredibly meaningful.”
