Released on March 14, 2025, it is about the artist and his girlfriend, asserting that he is the one for her and would do anything for her. As soon as this song was released, everyone was talking about it. People use it for posts on multiple social media platforms. It’s everywhere.
If you like Hip-Hop, this song could be for you. First, the beat sounds like trap, hip-hop, and emo rap, with melodic rap and cloud rap influences. It makes you feel like you’re in paradise; it’s easy to sing it with your friends, by yourself, loud. A good backdrop for summer fun. It’s the kind of song that can make you forget about a bad day. When I’m feeling down or sad, I listen to this song.
The lyrics are both catchy and deep: “And my life changed so fast that I don’t even recognize myself from last year.” The catchy, bouncy modern hip-hop beat is what makes me like this song.

Over time, I have noticed Tecca’s songs and how they have changed, becoming more and more well put-together. From 2021 “Lot of Me,” 2025’s “Dark Thoughts” overall feels way more well-rounded.
I think “Dark Thoughts will be one of the big songs of the summer, and end up being one of Lil Tecca’s biggest hits. When his new album Dopamine drops, it will end up being one of his best albums ever.
