There’s many good things that came from the 2024-2025 basketball season that lead players to success. During their winter season, the skyline basketball team had a lot of good moments in their games, while ending the season off with the record of 15-9. The basketball program helps set up players as they try to continue in their collegiate career.
Aidan Urban (‘27) said, “We played really well as a team but we struggled with injuries. When we were at our peak we could beat any team in the state, we showed that throughout spring to fall, but unfortunately before the year was about to end, some of the players were battling with injuries and we never made it back to our peak.” This shows how the team was very good at playing well together as a team.
“It was pretty rough not being able to play with the team. I had to fight through this injury for 9 months and wasn’t able to play.” Said Nico Colias (‘25) who had been injured all season. “Towards the end of the regular season I got cleared to be able to practice with the team but unfortunately I wasn’t able to play in the games because of the injury.” Even through injuries Nico was willing to stay with the team and tried his hardest to speed up the recovery process to come back and play for his teammates.
Spectator David Wason (‘25) said, “I really enjoyed watching the games and seeing them win toward the very end. I liked watching Ben and Braylan play the game. It looked like watching the 2011 Oklahoma City Thunder team. One memory I had about the game was pioneer vs. skyline, the second time Ben Solomon shoots a half court shot at the buzzer.” David loved being at the game and watching the team be successful and do well.
River Bryne (‘26) reflected saying, “I felt honored being on the team. It felt like we had good team chemistry. I really appreciate being there to help the juniors guide us and make us better. It was very fun hyping up my teammates including my friend.” Bryne was there for the team, hyping and motivating them throughout the season.
The 2024–25 Skyline basketball team showcased resilience, growth, and heart throughout the season. Despite facing tough injuries, good competition, the players demonstrated strong teamwork, improved skills, and a commitment to pushing each other forward. With standout performances from key players and a rising group of underclassmen, the team laid a solid foundation for future success.
