As podcasts are slowly taking over the way many people consume modern information, according to Riverside, over 450 million people listened to podcasts in 2023. However, with an audience number this high, many still struggle to find content they like. So today, I’ve brought you 3 of my favorite podcasts to share that may just inspire you to listen to on different occasions.
The first podcast I picked is a crime related station that covers a major crime case every episode. Rotten Mango is hosted by Stephanie Soo and her husband. While typical crime related podcasts focus on cold facts and legal detail giving audiences pure and clean case realities, Rotten Mango approaches it differently: They start each episode off by a haunting hook that grabs our attention immediately, then in relatively soft approaching way, they bring us into the case itself in a story-telling way with emotions. Stephanie manages to make her videos engaging and thrilling by reacting to facts in a realistic manner, she blends shock, horror, and compassion together along with just enough humor. Their team also does extensive research for each episode and all their notes are organized and posted on the official website for everyone to read. This is a great podcast to put on while multitasking, it provides enough entertainment for a boring task but doesn’t require the attention to get you distracted.
The second podcast that I chose is called The Moth. This is a story-telling podcast, where each episode, three different individuals share raw, personal stories in the form of a public speech. This leads to the podcast covering a wide range of topics while being emotionally rich at the same time. It’s something effortless to listen to but also emotionally resonant and thought-provoking. One thing l love particularly about The Moth is the wide range of guests they include. The diversity gives audiences a peek into different cultures and fields that we don’t get to see or hear anywhere else.
The last podcast I prepared for you today is called Deep Dive, where you will be able to get caught up on the most recent, up-to-date celebrity gossip and Hollywood drama. Each episode they uncover a specific event regarding a personal drama event or scandals of big corporations, making a simple, flat gossip into a multidimensional, multi-perspective drama play. It’s a great show to put on when your fast food just arrived.
With an endless selection of podcasts out there, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by choice. But I hope the three personal favorites I shared with you today give you a place to start. You might just find yourself enjoying one of these as much as I do.
