WASHINGTON — After the recent budget and job cuts on several government agencies, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has found a new target. DOGE director Elon Musk has now called for steep cuts to the number of days in a month, suggesting that “we can reduce it to 12 or even 10.”
The billionaire blasted the current calendar in an explosive address, declaring “30 days— it’s just too many. This 365-day system is simply not efficient, and we are confident that a strong reduction of maybe 70-80% would be done without affecting any critical schedules.”
So far, Musk has attempted to reduce each month to 21 days, although February will have 20. Musk maintains that aiming for equal numbers of days in each month is “too woke.” Eventually, however, he says he aims to reduce each month to 10 days.
President Trump also supported the policy, commenting, “my old friend George Washington, I knew him well, he would be a big, big fan, a huge fan. This is the greatest idea in all 2,025 years of American history.”
