Last year the men’s Skyline hockey team went 12-12-2.
This year, Skyline Boys Hockey had a rocky start as the team got to know each other and work together. “Our record this year currently is 7-13.…going into the season, we knew it was going to be tough for us,” said Alex Dimagno (‘28). “ But we are going to keep trying our hardest as we enter the second half of our season.”
Skyline hockey went 7-18-0 this year.
This season, the team lost eight seniors and gained four freshmen, which left more opportunity for newer players to support the team on the ice and grow the team for future years, this year the majority of the team is Juniors with there being eight.
“Last year we had eight seniors so losing a key part of the team like that has been a struggle,” said Benjamin Billlings (‘26). “But our new leadership has really stepped up in helping the team stay positive.”
Skyline hockey has games every week, with Monday 4 to 5:15 practice and the remaining weekdays from 4:45 to 6. “This year practices have been a lot harder and the training is a lot more serious,” said Keegan Roberts (‘28). “Compared to the other teams I’ve played for.”
The team finds ways to stay connected and bond with each other in and out of school. “I think a main difference that this year’s team has that last year’s team didn’t,” said Billlings. “Is that we are more like a big family and have bonded as a team a lot better even though we haven’t had a ton of success with winning as opposed to last year.”
