Lethal Company is an indie horror game released in 2023 by Zeekers. Selling almost 10 million copies from its release in October 2023, Lethal Company is a Steam exclusive game in which you are tasked with finding and returning scrap within a facility full of monsters. 

However, Lethal Company isn’t like any other horror game. It’s incredibly funny, using in-game voice chat to add tension and hilarious moments. For example when someone in your lobby screams before getting cut off because they were taken away by a monster. 

It is one of the most replayable games I have. The interiors of the facility you enter to gather scrap are randomly generated, and so are the scrap themselves. There are multiple different maps with different scrap and enemy spawn rates. There’s also a way to join random players’ ships to gather scrap with new people, ensuring you will be able to play for hundreds of hours without losing interest. 

The inventory system of Lethal Company is very tight. You have four inventory slots and the option to bring a multitude of items from the ship inside, such as a flashlight to improve vision in the dark facility and a shovel to defend yourself from some of the monsters inside. However, this limits the amount of scrap you can carry down to two items. This causes strategies like finding scrap fast and dropping it at the front door to have someone in your lobby bring it back to the ship, as they will be able to do it twice as fast as you. 

There are a multitude of monsters in the facility trying to eliminate you or steal your scrap. For example, the hoarding bug is a bug-like creature that will roam the halls trying to find scrap and bringing it back to its nest. Or the coilhead, a mannequin-like figure with a head on a coil that will only move when nobody’s looking at it. 

Lethal Company is a good choice if you’re looking for a funny game or a new horror game. It has a lot of comedic value while still being scary, providing high tension while searching for scrap by yourself.
